An Oxfam bookshop in Swansea has been inundated with so many copies of the erotic novel that they’ve started begging women to stop bringing them in. The shop now has so many copies of the book, they’ve built a fort out of them.

Igloo

Point Architects from Tokyo combined a bed with a bookcase and the result was called the Uroko House. The incredible bookcase completely surrounds this bed, making it look like an igloo made of books.

By using bookshelves to clad the exterior walls, this combination house and library protects the privacy of its inhabitants’ living space while inviting visitors into the surrounding library. Semi-transparent FRP divides the interior and exterior spaces, allowing soft light to filter in between the bookshelves during the day, and letting the light leak out at night. Light creates a connection between inside and outside.
