A metal sheet, mounted horizontally or vertically on the wall provides an endless variety of possibilities: boxes with a magnetical back stick on it in any position. Depending on number, size and arrangement of the boxes, there is a new shelf everytime you change it. Magnetique is any cupboard you want it to be.

EFoS - Elastic Folding Structure
It is built around the simplest materials connected by hinges, and is bent to the rules of elasticity and folding. Wood latticework, one of the traditional elements of Japanese architecture, reaches a delicate relationship between light and shadow. By intersecting layers of lattices in various angles, EFoS creates a visual phenomenon known as moiré. Even more, this creates spatial depth and complex effects by the tremors of light and movement around the structure.

Skew bookcase
The bookcase consists of identical modular components that are stacked facing alternate directions to create sloping shelves. Smånsk are currently seeking an appropriate manufacturer for the design. Sloping shelves mean you do not have to arrange the shelves in various heights as with ordinary bookcases. There are room for binders at the high end of each shelve and pocket books at the low end. All parts of the bookcase are identical. To assemble it you just rotate the parts and place them on top of each other. The identical parts provides easy manufacturing as well. “Maintain The Balance of Your Knowledge!”
This super cool bookshelf called “Maintain The Balance of Your Knowledge!” by designer Denis Oh shifts and swings from side to side according to the placement of your books. A simple adjustment of the placing of your books results in a dynamic change in the look of the shelf. The shelf is weighted with hanging counter-balancers that can be used to balance the shelf by moving the weights horizontally.

"Parallax" shelving system
Knowing by statistics that the person we love is 72,8% water, we believe reality is defined by perception. Can we design perceptions and make someone love 86,2% aluminium? Designing objects that interact more actively with our perception through the parallax effect we can experience when moving around them, was one way to try. To eliminate bookends, we introduced slopes on shelves, this was the starting point to explore the use of oblique lines to enhance the parallax changes in our personal perceptions.
Tree Dimensional Shelf.
Understanding nature instead of over processing it: although widely used, trees are usually hidden and forgotten in over processed products (like wood shelves and books).Tree Dimensional Shelf is a sculptural shelf using Blizzard's new material performances to highlight and pay tribute to this natural structure and essential living being.
Gravitate Your Shelf is a shelving system and 360º adjusting room divider, using just two different elements - Blizzard shelves and methacrylate structural spheres - with an original no tool assembly system, based in shelves hole dimensions and gravity. The structural transparent methacrylate spheres allow the system to rotate while maintaining the shelves in the same height due to the hole dimensions in the Blizzard shelves.

Piegato
Piegato is a sheet steel rack with a surprisingly high load capacity. The laser cut and powder coated sheet steel is been delivered almost completely plain, which results in a simple and cost effective transportation. The customer then bends out the required amount of shelves from the plain and mounts the hole rack with just two screws in a few minutes. Due to the enviromental friendly production, the freight size and the recyclability Piegato also holds a brilliant ecological balance.

Alternating-tread stairs
Here’s an interesting set of alternating-tread stairs, the likes of which I’ve never seen before. They’re in a house renovated by Adam Jirkal, Jerry Kozaa and Tomáš Kalhous, located in Všenory, Czech Republic.

Cantilever Bookshelf
This is a remake of a cantilevered bookshelf I made few years ago. The concept is the same as the previous version, however I've simplified the design and eliminated any kind of connection pieces between the counter weight and the steel plate. Essentially, this bookshelf can be made with one precast concrete counter weight, one structural steel channel, and one custom piece of sheet steel slotted down the middle to accomodate and adjustable bookend (not shown) to stop the books from toppling over as they are placed farther down the shelf.

Shika
Shika is a desktop bookshelf. It can hold about five books and uses the weight of the books to maintain stability. The design grew from my desire to make a rustic desktop bookshelf from natural materials, informed by modern patterns of use. The backbone is carved from a single branch, the shelf made from four different woods laminated together.Shika means: Deer (Japanese) Money/ Gold (Ga) Drunkard (Yiddish).

Bookseat
The idea of combining a chair and a bookshelf makes a lot of sense to us; since we spend most (if not all) of our reading time seated, it follows that we should have ready access to our reading material. Bookseat from Toronto-based Fishbol Design Atelier combines suavely-bent plywood with smart use of space to create an elegant, useful piece.

Corvette shelf
Now you don't have to leave the lovely visage of your favorite ponycar languishing in the dark of the garage anymore. California Car Cover Company is offering shelves that pay homage to Shoebox Chevies, '59 Caddies, C3 Corvettes and '65 Mustangs. We bet that it'll take less time to mount one of these to the wall than it will to get that old Quadrabog rebuilt and tuned.
