Off the wall
The idea was to make a 3-dimensional wallpaper, which gives an additional function more than just decoration. The wallpaper would roll out away from the wall as if it came to life. Wallpapers goes out into the room, test their limits and turn a moment into something else and then go back and establish themselves in their traditional role and place.

Bookshelf
Isaac Layman's unnervingly banal color photographs of household items are astonishingly subtle in their perception-based tomfoolery. The Seattle artist's earliest work on view presents an almost-seamless image of a bookcase whose spines are turned away from the camera, so that the books become little more than nameless swathes of bound paper. The viewer's impulse to scan the shelves for familiar titles is doubly thwarted when they notice that the photograph almost seems to shift its perspective, depending on where the viewer looks. Almost imperceptibly, Layman has combined photographs taken from different vantage points in creating Bookcase, resulting in a deceptive network of impossible sightlines.

Hanging Bookcase
Using less material for its construction that typical bookcases, the Hanging Bookcase was inspired by the racks used to dry laundry. Each book envelopes a vertical wire (which positions it), with its base resting on a horizontal wire (which bears its weight). The space between the wires and books gives a high degree of transparency, and the bookcase itself is lightweight.
The grid format in which the books are arranged makes it easy to locate each specific book, and they can be easily categorised. The space between the wires differs, however, to suit different book thicknesses. At the left of the Hanging Bookcase, the wires are six centimetres apart; the remaining wires are four centimetres apart. The wires are tightly strung to resist deformation, even when significant weight is applied. The size of the bookcase was determined by the scale and load-bearing strength of steel wire.
The wires can also be used as bookmarks, with the book slotted onto the wire at the appropriate page. The yellow book cards, which are hung on the horizontal wires, can be used for classification purposes and to assist with locating books quickly.

Book Cell + Passage
Book Cell will gather editions from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation from the past 50 years, reinforcing the site specific nature of the work with the incorporation of one of the most precious streaks in the history of the cultural intervention of this institution.
The "Passage" represents a kind of symbolic "short cut across the world" in which we exist or dwell: through the factual, real world into the world of human culture, where reality is exchanged for another - virtual - reality, for the reality of word, text, sign, symbol, image, and back again.
The project itself is a metaphorical synthesis of a number of formal semantic elements: an entrance, a path, "endless walls" of books, mirrors, light, an exit and even the physical presence of the viewers themselves.

Beauty is sometimes overlooked because of scale. circuit boards have a beautiful and efficient pattern that perfectly serve their function; they hold and transport digital information. These bookshelves are inspired by the form of circuit boards and they will help to contain the physical information found in books.

Bookbook

BookBook is a one-of-a-kind, hardback leather case designed exclusively for MacBook and MacBook Pro. Available in Classic Black or Vibrant Red, BookBook brings three levels of security to your prized Mac. First, the hardback cover and spine provide solid protection from the rigors of the road. Second, the vintage book design disguises MacBook for superior security. And third, the stylish case protects you from being like everyone else because BookBook is totally original, just like you. Sitting on a coffee table, dorm room or desk, BookBook looks like a vintage piece of literature, not an expensive laptop.

Display

MDF shelf, 6 feet long, 1 foot wide, 3/4 inch thick, resting on two metal brackets displaying books borrowed from Belk Library. The shelf sags under the weight of its contents in a graceful arc, the top edges of all the books are perfectly flush as a result of a conscious selection of volumes chosen to accommodate (or compensate for) the arc of the sagging shelf.

Fold

Fold is a striking metal shelf made from a single sheet of steel hand folded into shape along lasercut perforations. The complex folded form, inspired by plant growth and structures, is efficiently manufactured using minimal processes which result in a product exhibiting no joints or welds and holds an air of mystery as to how it could have been made. Its assymetrical form is dynamic with clean and precise lines, which due to the lasercut perforations appear stitched providing a crafted and tailored aesthetic. As a collection the shelves work together creating a striking graphic pattern of cellular structures which branch out and colonise the wall creating a decorative and functional 3D feature. Usable in two orientations it allows the customer to create unique arrangements adaptable to their environment.
